Guidance of Epidemiology Unit of Sri Lanka for Workplace Preparedness for COVID-19
This is the guidance for workplace preparedness for COVID-19 provided by the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health & Indigenous Medical Services of Sri Lanka. This document outlines the key steps to be taken at workplaces to prevent the spread of the virus. This may help to reduce working days lost due to illness and stop or slow the spread of COVID-19. Some simple measures that can be easily adopted in the workplace to reduce the spread of infections are included. This explains the way how the COVID-19 spreads, the workers who are more at risk, promotion of good hand hygiene practices among employees and customers, the way how to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the workplace and importance of cleanliness in the workplace, promotion of good respiratory hygiene in the workplace, ensuring access to information regarding the risk of COVID-19 in the workplace, managing COVID-19 risk when organizing meetings & events and overseas travels. This guideline helps employers to prepare the workplace for the COVID-19 situation while continuing their business processes supporting the public health authorities to avoid the spread of the virus within the workplace.
